Zerust®/Excor® offers a wide range of rust inhibitor coatings ranging from oil-based, solvent-based, water-based, grease-based to oil additives for the protection of parts in-between production processes, storage, or for added protection to our ICT® Poly Packaging and ICT® Kraft Packaging Paper.

Anti Corrosion Oils

The Zerust®/Excor® Axxanol™ anti corrosion oils consist of solvent and oil-based rust preventative products that are specifically designed to protect ferrous, non-ferrous and multimetal metal assets. Use Axxanol™ products to protect bare metal surfaces during manufacturing processes, storage and shipping applications from rust and corrosion. Water-Based

The Zerust®/Excor® Axxatec™ series consists of water-based rust preventative products that are specifically designed to protect ferrous, non-ferrous and multimetal metal assets. Use Axxatec™ products to protect bare metal surfaces during assembly, and in situations where water-based spray-on, in-line production or dipping applications are desired. Axxatec™ products offer an easy-to-use corrosion inhibiting additive that forms a clear, thin, dry-to-touch coating that helps prevent flash rust in-between production processes and for short to medium term shipment and storage periods in conjunction with Zerust® VCI packaging. Anti Corrosion Greases

Zerust®/Excor® Axxanol™ anti corrosion greases are ideal for protecting bare-metal parts and components of machinery and equipment in extreme weather and salt-air conditions. Axxanol™ anti corrosion greases can be used for protecting parts during operation or long-term storage for up to 1 year outdoors and 2 years indoors. How VCI rust
inhibitors work?

Zerust® VCI rust inhibitors work by releasing a harmless, non-toxic, odorless, colorless vapor into the air around your metal item. Protective molecules settle on all exposed metal surfaces, forming a very thin protective layer that is just a few molecules thick. This molecular layer inhibits electrochemical reactions on the surface of the metal that cause corrosion. Exposed metal surfaces protected by Zerust® benefit from a long-lasting shield against rust, tarnish and corrosion.

What is the difference between a rust
inhibitor and rust preventative?

Rust inhibitors are commonly chemicals added to a substance to prevent corrosion or lower the rate of corrosion. The inhibitor molecule attaches or coats the metal surface, by forming a thin protective film either by itself or in conjunction with metallic ions, providing a protective barrier film that stops the corrosive reaction from developing.

Rust preventative coatings rely on the formation of a barrier on the metal surface to prevent water from contacting the metal surface. The protective coating that forms vary from (dry-to-the-touch, oily, semi-hard or soft) depending on the product used and also allow different application methods (brush-on, spray-on, or immersion/dip).
